Operational Results of the Chemical Energy Package Revamp in Two 110-Ton-Capacity EAFs at ArcelorMittal Acindar (Room 406)

ArcelorMittal Acindar, a steel company focused on increasing efficiency and cost reduction of the steelmaking process using scrap as charge and feeding direct reduced iron continuously, planned to revamp the chemical energy package on its two 110-ton-capacity electric arc furnaces (EAFs) with the goal of decreasing the consumption of injected carbon and oxygen and achieving better foaming slag. This revamp consisted of a new EAF chemical package supplied from Lumar Metals. The papers shows the results of carbon, oxygen, electric energy consumption reduction and better foaming slag.
