Development and implementation of the procedure for flushing the deadman coke in the hearth of blast furnace from unburned coal, small particles of coke, and flux residues under conditions of using coke and iron ore of unstable quality, when pulverized coal is injected over 140 kg/ton. Hearth washing includes the permanent charge of Mn-containing materials and periodic charging of low-basic iron-bearing materials. Hearth washes charge consists of 100 tons or more of special sinter or iron-bearing briquettes. The expediency of using briquettes obtained on roll-type presses has been substantiated. The washing procedure efficiency is 3-7 kg/t of coke.
