Operational Results and Experience of Burners/Oxygen Injectors With Moving Flame and Oxygen Jets Installed in the Electric Arc Furnace of Stahl und Walzwerk Marienhütte (Room 406)

Stahl und Walzwerk Marienhütte GmbH in Graz operates a highly productive electric arc furnace. The furnace capacity is 45 tons and plant produces more than 400,000 tons per year with this single unit. HTT OxymoTM burner system was installed in this EAF in 2019 and operation has been optimized in following years. This new technology enable a controlled and wide range motion of the oxygen gas flames and supersonic oxygen jet inside of the furnace area, while the burner body remains static and sealed in the furnace wall. The paper describes principles of this new technology and the latest practical operational results.
