Artificial Vision Measures for BOF Mouth and Lance Skulls — LanceSkullMeVi (Room 318)

In BOFs there are often problems due to the skull around lances. There is already a copper lance and special shape in operation to avoid this problem. Numbers are amazing in life and avoid lance skulls. With this technology, operators and maintenance personnel have stopped inspecting the lance as they have in the past. Sometimes huge skulls grow around the lance and cause damage to the cooled elements of the dedusting system. This article features a virtual eye to inspect and measure the thickness of the skull around the lance after each heat. The results are increased operational safety and guaranteed lance removal at the right times.
