This paper compares two basic oxygen furnace capacities: 220 and 330 tons. Included in this comparison are certain behaviors: scrap, skulls, bottom tuyere arrangements and how lances increase up service during the year with post-combustion, slag splashing and bottom burning. It proposes equations to control these new activities.
