The road map to carbon-neutral steelmaking foresees a vastly increased role for direct reduced iron as ferrous feedstock for crude steel production, presenting major raw material supply challenges to the sector, perhaps manifesting themselves by the end of the current decade. The presentation will provide a status update on the medium-term outlook and examine the challenges and options for the longer term.
