World Premiere for a New Type of Mold Level Control to Reach a New Degree of Mold Level Stability (Room 316)

For the first time, a totally new approach in compensating mold level hunting through unsteady bulging has been taken. The stabilization of the mold level is achieved by modifying the casting gap in the bender area. With this approach, a reduction of mold level fluctuations to noise levels can be achieved — even for high bulging frequencies that occur for higher casting speeds. This new method stabilizes bulging already at its origin — the strand containment. Therefore, the process in the mold is very stable and necessary stopper movements are reduced.
