Bending Automation One Size or Type, Does One Fit All?
Adding automation to bending production is a must in today's industry. Whether you are considering a panel bender with automation or bending automation using a press brake with a robot, there are many different types and sizes, but is there one that covers all products? Then, once the decision is made, what are some of the challenges of implementation?

Press Brake Safety: The Smart Light Curtains Shift to a Safer, Faster and Easier Bending
For the last 20 years, the dominant technology for safeguarding a press brake (based on laser devices) allowed the operator unobstructed access to the pinch point. Today's smart light curtains are reverting the trend back to safety by "safety distance" while allowing unrestricted operation on the brake, and allowing the use of all types of tooling (staggered tools, hemming, radius, joggling, etc) without forcing the brake to slow speed anymore. More and more users worldwide are claiming back their rights to work without constantly having to adjust the safety devices according to the height of the tooling being used. Also, the latest advancements in press brakes with ATC (automatic Tool Changer) benefit from having the safety device moved out of the tooling area.
