A Manufacturer’s Crystal Ball – How to See into the Future with Data and Predictive Planning
If we’ve learned anything from the past two years, it’s that the future is unpredictable. While manufacturers can’t look into a crystal ball to know what lies ahead, they can put themselves in the best possible position for success with data and predictive planning. While small and medium-sized manufacturers don’t always have the infrastructure in place to effectively leverage advanced data analytics systems, they do collect plenty of data from their machines, ERP software, and more. But without a good feel for setup, downtimes, run rates, and a host of other critical manufacturing analytics, small businesses struggle to retrieve data from multiple silos and implement it into predictive planning efforts. In this session, the presenter will discuss how small and medium sized manufacturers can do more with their data to gain better insight into what the future holds and how to use that insight to make strategic decisions.

Leveraging Data as an Asset
On average, 60% to 73% of all data within a business enterprise goes unused for analytics and decision making. And although real-time data is the foundation of Industry 4.0 and “smart manufacturing,” that statistic is even higher in the manufacturing sector. As metal fabricators face new challenges for labor and external economic and social pressures, it becomes more and more important to have timely insights in your value stream. Kate Brown has helped hundreds of companies gain visibility into operational performance – from quality to production planning, engineering to sales, the use-cases are endless. In this session, Kate will illustrate how manufacturers are leveraging data analytics technology to eliminate data silos, decrease manual reporting efforts and increase the speed at which they can make decisions across the business. By the end of the session, attendees will be presented with the tools needed to get started on their data transformation journey.
