Helping consumers understand energy ratings is always a challenge. The studies were conducted under the supervision of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Baltimore Gas and Electric. Products included in the studies were awnings, exterior shades and interior roller shades. These were installed in different locations around the US. All showed significant energy savings. The presentation will also look at the energy ratings of the products involved so that participants can know what to look for when recommending energy-efficient products for their customers. Learning Outcomes: • Knowledge of several, verified, real world examples of how window attachments saved energy presented in a format that can be easily shared with customers. • Understanding of how to use AERC ratings to confidently guide consumers towards making informed decisions about energy efficiency when selecting window attachments.
