Leading in Partnership: The Board President–Superintendent Relationship (Room 201 D/E)

The relationship between the board president and superintendent is unlike any other in the district. When built on trust, clarity, communication and mutual respect, this partnership can strengthen board governance, support effective leadership and set the tone for the entire board–superintendent team. This interactive session will explore practical strategies for building and sustaining a strong president–superintendent relationship, including communication routines, role clarity, managing differing perspectives, avoiding surprises and navigating challenging situations together. Participants will also have an opportunity to connect with fellow board presidents and superintendents, share experiences and learn from one another.
