Drawing on focus group research from Wisconsin high school students, participants in this session will learn about students’ perceptions of AI tools, cheating and academic integrity. Explore the gap between students’ perceptions of how they are using AI tools and how their teachers think they are using them, effective and ineffective messages they’ve received from their teachers about how to use AI tools, and what they want to learn about AI. Presenters will share recommendations for school and district policies to guide appropriate uses of AI tools.
