Outdoor education is often viewed as "less than" or "a nice extra" rather than an essential component in academic development. However, evidence demonstrates that every teacher can use outdoor education practices in traditional classrooms. The goal of this presentation is to highlight the importance of redefining the goal of formal education to connect our students to the world around them. This session demonstrates how the Superior School District breaks down the walls between outdoor education and traditional learning, highlighting the benefits this integration brings to student achievement.
