Student Photos, AI and the Risk of Silence (Room 101 A/B)

As AI tools make it easier to alter and misuse images, school leaders and families are questioning whether student photos belong on district websites and social media. The privacy risks are real. So are the risks of going quiet. When a community cannot see the good things happening in its schools, districts find it more difficult to attract new families and build trust, especially when it matters most. When districts choose to stay silent, negative narratives fill the void. This session helps boards and administrators put guardrails in place to protect students while keeping authentic student voices, achievements and stories at the heart of school communications.
