Attend this session to learn about how a district can support all students through an effective district-authorized charter school partnership. The Cedar Grove-Belgium School District authorizes Rocket Academy, a public instrumental charter school for juniors and seniors interested in advanced manufacturing trades. Student success and increasing enrollment trends have demonstrated that districts and charter schools can benefit from effective relationships and collaborative strategic planning. Hear from three different perspectives: the superintendent, the director of business services, and the charter school director. Explore how to establish and maintain a partnership that supports unique learning models for students. Attendees will learn six strategies for supporting students through collaboration between the Board of Education and the Governance Council. A framework for positive charter school / district partnerships will be shared.
