As districts across Wisconsin are exploring innovative ways to maximize investment amid declining enrollment, the combined middle/high school model is emerging as a compelling solution. This session highlights three districts — Howards Grove, Rosendale-Brandon and Boscobel Area — and their facility investments and curriculum shifts to create unique middle/high models. Through real-world case studies, attendees will gain insight into how to thoughtfully lead communities through exploratory consolidation discussions, reimagine program delivery and expand student opportunities through shared resources and specialized staffing. The session will also explore how the building design supports this model, balancing cost-efficient shared spaces with necessary age-appropriate separation, to create flexible, future-ready learning environments.
