Measures That Matter: A Board Playbook for Asking the Right Questions (Room 203 C/D)

School boards often act as passive recipients of dense reports rather than drivers of improvement. This interactive four-hour workshop with the WISExplore Leadership Team empowers boards to transition to proactive oversight by integrating 2025-26 state report card data with local evidence. Using the WISExplore "3-Legged Stool" model, participants will balance student performance with adult practices and systems data. This holistic approach reveals the "why" behind outcomes, allowing boards to see the full picture of district performance. Through a chronic absenteeism case study, boards will practice a repeatable Data Inquiry Process and master asking high-leverage questions. Attendees will gain a framework to align resources with high-priority needs, driving tangible progress toward district goals.
