As AI, machine learning and automation evolve, the skills needed to succeed across industries are shifting, creating a growing gap between manufacturing workforce needs and readiness. Pewaukee School District and the School District of Reedsburg are reimagining ways to teach CTE in their high schools by transforming traditional “shop” classes into innovation hubs. These programs integrate emerging technologies and prioritize soft skills such as creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurship. This session traces the journey from early ideas to the design of innovative programs and learning spaces. District leaders and architects will share how they led the process, offering key insights and lessons learned.
