Resilient C2 Under DDIL Conditions: Data and Apps at the Edge (Room Estes B)

To maintain decision dominance, commanders and leaders at every echelon must seamlessly transition to local edge applications and data when denied connectivity to remote cloud compute resources. This panel brings together the orchestrators of the Army’s Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) data layer, Cyberspace and Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) analysis experts, and operational leaders who seek resilience for battlefield awareness when network connectivity is denied or degraded. The discussion will highlight how the NGC2 technology stack enabled operations in a contested environment at a recent Ivy MASS exercise, and how NGC2 provides a management control plane for Warfighters to configure, manage, and secure software applications to maintain parity between cloud and edge resources. The panel addresses an operational leader’s need for resilient data and apps in a DDIL fight to ensure commanders maintain decision dominance.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this session, attendees will be able to:

· Explain the strategic necessity of transitioning to local edge applications and data to maintain decision dominance during Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) conditions.

· Describe the architecture and capabilities of the Army's Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) data layer in providing resilient battlefield awareness for tactical commanders.

· Analyze the operational outcomes and technological integrations demonstrated by the NGC2 stack during contested environment scenarios at the Ivy MASS exercise.
