Miles, Mud, and Municipalities: RTPM Adventures in Linear Construction (Room Islander Ballroom H)

02 Sep 26
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Tracks: Intelligent Infrastructure Advancements

Standard ICT project management often stops at the building envelope, but rural and linear construction efforts require a different playbook. In this session, the presenter will share the methodologies used to manage linear infrastructure projects across diverse geographic and regulatory landscapes. Drawing from the presenter’s experience in fiberoptic broadband construction, the presenter will dive into the unique "linear" hurdles of rural fiber: managing multi-state permitting, large-scale Right-of-Way (ROW) acquisition, and utility coordination across thousands of miles of new network. Attendees will learn how to adapt RTPM methodologies to account for the unpredictability of directional boring, aerial installations, and environmental restoration at scale. This session provides a roadmap for turning massive geographic challenges into high-performance deployments.
