New emerging technologies for data center security are available in 2026 that will help reduce staffing costs and increase security levels. With up to $34B of planned physical security spend over the next 5 years, developers are looking for ways to increase the efficiency of the investments. There is increasing pressure to find ways to move security to the edge, increase security levels, improve efficiency, and decrease physical security costs. The new coming self-service automated data center check-in technologies will provide solutions in the near future. In this presentation, we will take a look at what is coming and some of the considerations that will help guide the development of data center physical security designs today and in the future.
