Countdown to Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) Compliance (Room 125 A&B)

The Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) required submission of an “Initial” service line inventory in October of 2024. In addition, there are several other elements of the LCRR that were retained including annual notices to customers with known or suspected lead service lines. The compliance deadline for the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) is next year (2027) and water systems still have time to prepare but need to get started - Now! This session will discuss how to navigate the LCR to LCRR to LCRI regulatory transition. A framework for developing a LCRI compliance plan will be proposed that highlights what needs to be done by when, discuss how to prioritize the journey based on individual system characteristics, and provide a blueprint for how to get started.
