The boom-bust cycle of US wind markets has driven many developers and supply chain companies to explore international opportunities. With rapid expansion of wind markets both close to home (Canada, Mexico) and further afield (Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa), opportunities abound for geographic diversification and increased profitability. But these markets are not for the faint of heart: shifting regulatory sands, policy uncertainty and questions around financing can be daunting for the most seasoned industry players.
