WINDPOWER Conference & Exhibition 2019

Development in the 2020s: More Sites and Megawatts through Permitting and Repowering (Room Power Station)

How can the wind industry expand by 3 or 4 times the current operating capacity?  Wind project siting and development have changed dramatically in recent years, with fewer easily developed wind project sites and a rise in local opposition scuttling many wind project efforts.  While economic and political influences continue to fluctuate, the reality of climate change makes it clear that we need more energy from wind. During this session we will explore how we find more sites, how we successfully develop sites where there are opposing forces, and how we can use repowering and hybrid technical approaches to wind projects to get more energy out of the existing fleet of wind projects throughout the country.

This session is accredited by the State Bar of Texas.
