Market Operators across the United States have been efficiently integrating wind power, solar power, and other emerging technologies into their regions. Changes that have been initiated by stakeholders, regulators, independent market monitors, and the market operators themselves have led to market design evolution that allows for a more reliable and economic integration of these technologies. In this session, panelists will describe the current state of the art of electricity markets, ongoing and recently implemented design initiatives, and future evolution of electricity markets that may be anticipated given the potential for greater penetrations of renewable resources participating in electricity markets.
