Resilient Communications for Grid Reliability (Room 203A)

Reliable communications networks are essential for the reliable deliver of utility services.  The importance of these utility private communications networks for blue sky operations and recovering from major natural disasters and so-called “black sky” events has been demonstrated in the North American Electric Reliability Corporation's (NERC) GridEx exercises and other preparedness initiatives.  Additionally, these networks become more and more integral to grid reliability as utilities move to Grid 2.0.  This session will detail work occurring throughout industry and government to identify utility communication capacity needs and specify resilient communications capabilities.
