Professional Practice
Nurses have been educated to practice professional nursing and use all of their specialized skills to care for patients. With all the noted and proposed changes in health care, nurses must expand their repertoire of knowledge and skills to practice in today’s multifaceted healthcare environment, especially their leadership skills. In today’s world, every nurse serves as a leader! This session is intended to provide both RN’s and APRN’s, new and experienced, the opportunity to gain new knowledge or enhance previously acquired knowledge on effective leadership skills that can be applied to their own specific health care delivery organization. Effective leadership styles, strategies, and implementation will be identified and discussed. Also discussed will be strategies to improving teamwork to build cohesive inter-professional teams.
