(400C) Pelvic Floor Exercises for Continence Interventions: What is the Science (Room Grand Ballroom A1)

This presentation will provide a broad review of current scientific evidence related to the role of pelvic floor muscle (PFM) training in the management of urinary and fecal incontinence. Recent evidence related to effectiveness of PFT training in urinary and fecal incontinence will be summarized.  Where available, specific information will be presented in relation to utilization of PFM exercises in specific patient groups including women, men who have radical prostatectomies, older adults and frail older adults. The results of studies examining the effectiveness of combine PFM training and pharmacologic treat will also be summarized.
