This workshop, for new and experienced incident commanders as well as line officers, focuses on the art of commanding an incident, making decisions, assigning personnel to vital fireground tasks, communicating strategies over the radio, and tracking all units using tactical incident charts. Emphasis is on the use of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and its span of control. Students are given the framework for making sound decisions, conveying their strategy over the radio, and running an effective functional fireground.
