8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Tracks: Instruction/training

This informative program begins with an overview of National Fire Protection Association 1403, Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions, including its history and recent changes, misconceptions, near misses, and line-of-duty deaths. The focus is on the key functional roles of the instructor in charge, safety, ignition, and the instructors and the NFPA 1403 compliance process. More and more departments are faced with the challenges of doing more with less, and live fire training is no exception. Attendees will as a group design a burn plan on a shoestring budget. In addition, the instructor offers tricks of the trade that will change attendees’ outlook on providing live fire training and NFPA compliance.
