Commercial Fireground Operations

08 Apr 19
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Tracks: H.O.T. Evolution (Outside) 4 HOUR

The focus is on field-proven tactics for fighting commercial fires. Students will rotate through four hands-on evolutions. In Fire Attack with 2½-Inch Hoselines, students will manage operating lines through a maze of shelving and narrow aisles. In Rotary Saw Evolutions, students will cut commercial style roll-down doors and gates from ground level and from a loading dock prop. In Forcible Entry, students will force entry with hand tools and rotary saws on chain-link fence, heavy-duty chain, and folding security gates. In Large-Area Search Techniques, students will practice the search techniques commonly needed in these types of fires, using multiple types of rope-assisted search. At the conclusion of this program, attendees will have new and reinforced skills they can immediately employ and share on their return to their respective fire departments.
