08 Apr 19
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Tracks: H.O.T. Evolution (Outside) 8 HOUR

This class is geared for firefighters whose departments are outside big city limits where staffing is lean but fireground objectives still necessitate urban tactics. When faced with limited staffing on apparatus, efficiency fireground duties becomes paramount. Unfortunately, short-staffing is a part of many departments’ reality. Accomplishing fireground tasks safely without sacrificing aggressiveness is a challenge. Students learn multiple techniques for overcoming this common issue through extensive hands-on opportunities in the areas of ground ladder deployment, victim removal, hook and can searches with live fire, hose deployment, and hose advancement. Each student can expect to get several turns in each rotation to hone newly acquired skills they will take back to their jurisdictions. New this year is the addition of live fire to the hook and can search evolution.
