1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Tracks: H.O.T. Evolution (Outside) 4 HOUR

This evolution takes participants through a series of in-depth skill stations that address “everything saw.” Participants learn by disassembling and assembling fire service chain and rotary saws and following recommended industry practices pertaining to cleaning, trouble shooting, and repair. Tips to ensure maximum performance and longevity of equipment through proper fuel usage and break-in procedures are also covered. Emphasis is on proper starting procedures that minimize stress on the tool, address cold and hot starts, and the user’s safe body positioning. Safe and efficient chain and rotary saw operations are demonstrated. Students perform techniques applicable to forcible entry, ventilation, debris-removal, and rapid-intervention scenarios that push the saw and operator to their full potential.
