FDIC 2019

Active Shooter Response for the First-Due Company

08 Apr 19
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Over the past 20 years, the public safety approach to high-threat, mass-casualty incidents has undergone significant changes. Current evolution of these events shows the need for responders to continue to adapt strategy and tactics to safely and efficiently mitigate these incidents. On completion of this course, participants will have basic knowledge of the updated tactics and know how to apply them to provide care in the warm zone at these incidents, such as an active shooter event. The evidence-based content presented is consistent with current best practices and guidelines from the Department of Homeland Security, National Fire Protection Association 3000, and the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care. Attendees will be provided with the tools, skills, and information for continued training at their department specific to Rescue Task Force implementation and will leave with instructional materials, knowledge of evidence-based medicine specific to high-threat incidents, and a framework for program design. This is a highly interactive course with opportunities to try out the latest equipment through ample hands-on skills evolutions.
