An efficient performance analysis of wind energy assets depends mainly on the available data and its reliability. However, there are many difficulties when handling data from a wide portfolio of wind turbines in the company. Some of these are: different start of measurement periods, different types of communication faults (and how each system responds to it), different acquisition frequencies, values out of range, different types of variable for each turbine model, varying classification criteria, and many others. Due to this, it is a considerable challenge to put together a platform (in this case, a third-level cloud based SCADA) and to have it perform in a consistent way. The next step is to guarantee that the deliverables (reports, dashboards, analysis, KPIs, watchlists, diagnosis tools…) create value to the company, and to be able to measure it. This article enlightens how a Brazilian company achieved all these goals in a fast-growing environment.
