Humankind will be going back to the Moon or onto Mars within the next several years. When the International Space Station is retired in the mid-2020s, the race will already be on to develop next-generation capabilities to facilitate Lunar or Mars exploration. This work extends to the spacesuit, which will require advanced fabrics to optimize performance in harsh environments. Attendees will gain knowledge providing the ability to: 1. Understand NASA's advanced space suit architecture. 2. Be aware of ongoing work to refine and mature advaned space suits. 3. Comprehend the gaps in performance and function that NASA needs to close as it relates to industrial fabrics in order to facilitate future human exploration missions.
