In this contribution we will present current investigations and developments for divers thin film deposition technologies like PVD , PECVD as well thermal evaporation for the production of highly efficient photovoltaic application on the base of silicon solar cells and as well thin film solar modules. The aspects for large scale production systems from a machine builder’s point of view will be added.
