Bridging the Gap: How To Close the Compatibility Gap Between Today’s ULSD and EPA Engines (Room Garden Terrace East , The Hotel Hershey)

The modern, high-efficiency diesel engine produces higher pressures and hotter temperatures in order to increase power, reduce emissions, and improve efficiency. The only problem? Today’s ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel can’t handle the heat. The Fuel vs. Technology dilemma is costing fleets considerable uptime and money by way of injector failures, premature filter plugging, loss of power, and poor fuel economy. This session will address how to reverse and prevent these issues by optimizing combustion, ensuring clean injection spray, and reducing DPF regens in the modern high-pressure common rail (HPCR) direct-fuel injection system.
