Join four learning specialists from a SEC institution as they share their experiences in facilitating the psycho-educational testing process for academically at-risk student athletes. The presentation will give a general overview of academic screening, testing referral, outcome trends and implications of the testing process at the University of Florida. Additionally, the presentation will describe in detail the recent collaboration between the learning services program at the Otis Hawkins Center for Academic and Personal Excellence and a new campus stakeholder which resulted in provision of assessment services. This presentation will demonstrate the value of and provide a guide to establishing connections with campus resources. The presentation will be geared towards learning specialists and those involved in student-athlete welfare and mental health.
