B2-R | Cognitive Behavioral Strategies for Educators (Room Sun D)

Cognitive behavioral strategies have emerged as a gold standard in therapeutic settings; however, such approaches have historically not translated into classroom instructional strategies to support students with disabilities. Using basic cognitive behavioral theory, school psychologists Eric Rossen and Lisa Phifer will share a series of classroom and small-group strategies to support students with ADHD, anxiety, depression, conduct disorders, and a history of trauma. Strategies will focus on developing cognitive skills, relationship coaching, emotional regulation, competency-building, and brain-based learning. These strategies can be built into IEPs and utilized by all educators, so you'll leave feeling empowered and prepared.
