A6 | Leading the Investigation Into Allegations of Discriminatory Harassment (Room Sun C)

07 May 19
1:15 PM - 2:30 PM

Tracks: Administration

Most schools have policies and procedures to prohibit bullying and disability discrimination, but few have taken the time to train the administrators responsible for conducting investigations when allegations of discrimination arise. Using real-life examples, attorney Jocelyn Kramer will describe how to evaluate and investigate discriminatory harassment as well as the requirements for both interim measures and final corrective actions. You'll learn the legal definitions of bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, and the applicable standard for finding a violation of the law. Plus, you'll take home a sample investigation report form and easy-to-follow flow charts on report and complaint procedures.
