E2 | Avoiding Fight Club: Ethics From the Perspectives of All Education Attorneys in a Difficult Case

Although this session will cover the most pressing Model Rules of Professional Conduct in tough cases, it will not be your typical ethics session. Attorney Bobby Truhe will offer a brief backstory about one of the most difficult special education cases in KSB School Law’s decades of representing school clients — a case which involved two very different students with disabilities, eventual criminal charges for sexual assault, and civil lawsuits. Bobby will then analyze the ethical questions from the perspective of the school’s attorney, the student-aggressor’s attorney, and the student-victim’s attorney as all parties navigated the delicate issues surrounding each layer of the case.
