AOC Symposium & Convention 2018

Symposium Session - High Energy Warfighting Applications (Room Rm 147, Convention Center)

28 Nov 18
10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Directed energy (DE) capabilities, including high-energy lasers and high-power microwaves, can deny, disrupt, degrade, or destroy adversary and friendly weapon systems, facilities, and equipment, and can create reversible and non-reversible effects on personnel. DE capabilities are rapidly maturing and will be integrated into EMSO in the near term. As DE weapons are fielded by allied forces, we must be aware and account for their fielding by adversary forces and build the appropriate electronic protection (EP) capabilities into our systems. Themes: Directed Energy Weapons; High-Powered Electromagnetic Technologies; EMP & High-Energy Protection SESSION CHAIR: Dr. David Stoudt, Senior Executive Advisor, Engineering Fellow for Directed Energy, Booz Allen Hamilton SESSION PRESENTERS: Dr. Thomas Karr, Assistant Director for Directed Energy at Department of Defense, Office of the Undersecretary for Research & Engineering Dr. John O’Hara, CEO, O’Hara Consulting Radio Frequency Weapons.....Potential Uses and Limitations
