Service providers continue to target Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) for greenfield and multiple dwelling units/MDUs. Simultaneously, the overall transition to DAA is generating a sizeable knock-on effect to the DWDM optical components that support such fiber-deep activity. CableLabs’ Curtis Knittle will cover the state of the art in today’s FTTH deployments, including the latest in the standards debates about the technical and economic feasibility of high bit rate, intensity modulated-direct detect (IM-DD) optics.
