PNM In Action: Using Predictive Modeling Tools to Reduce Service Interruptions (Room B406)

Nobody knows more so than field techs the impact Mother Nature can have on the physical infrastructure that carries broadband, video and related services to residential and business customers. This year’s installment from PNM expert and Comcast Fellow Michael O'Dell examines the intersection of ML/AI and real-time analytics about weather and HFC impairment data. The goal: To minimize the impacts of weather on the customer experience -- by climate.  Also:  What if you could know, in advance, the best time to conduct a customer-impacting but otherwise urgent repair, so as to minimize overall disruption? This session continues with a look at a CableLabs-developed model to predict the best times to conduct service-disruptive repairs, for a given set of impacted end devices.
