Busses depart at 8:00am sharp from 200 South - at the south entrance into the Salt Palace Convention Center and return to the Hilton, Radisson and Marriott City Center Hotels.
Morton Salt
This visit will include a tour of Morton Salt¹s Grantsville facility, an 8,000 acre solar salt production and harvesting facility. The tour will give visitors a behind-the-scenes view of the expansive facility, including a view of our vast ponds where saltwater is concentrated,crystallized, then harvested. Visitors will also receive a close look at our road salt manufacturing area where we process and stockpile our various Ice Melt products for distribution. In addition to producing our Ice Melt products, the Grantsville facility also produces food grade solar salt, pool and water softening salt, as well as industrial salt products.
Last year alone, the facility shipped 550,000 tons of salt across our expansive operating network. Representatives from Morton will be on hand to answer any and all of your questions.
