This presentation aims to improve safety in the machine room by giving an overview of what Elevator Machine Guarding is. As well as the OSHA standards and regulations, the different types of compliant solutions (component vs global), and a brief outline of the design process used by Flavesco. The attendees will learn about the awareness and importance of safety guarding in the machine room. As well to understand the pros and cons of different guarding solutions, when it is needed, the impact on regular maintenance, and how to better optimize setup to reduce cost and maintenance time.
