The presentation will consist of two sections. The first section will start with an introduction of the use of drones basics, requirements and how it works. Show attendees out of the box features from DJI and FAA regulations.  The second part will show how Rogers O'Brien Construction (RO) has been using unmanned aircraft vehicles (UAVs). RO has been using drones in construction for more than six years from operations to safety and marketing; in the presentation, we will show some projects that the drones successfully added value to the project and help the construction teams build faster and better. In the operations department, we have been using drone imagery for logistics planning, existing buildings and conditions, inspections, 3D models, quantities, project layout,  reports, and analysis. Leveraging drones and Ground Control Points (GCPs), the team can accurately coordinate the project. The GCP's provide the job site coordinates (latitude, longitude, and elevation) with 0.25" accuracy, using the drones, we saved more than $800,000.00 in a single project and avoided millions of dollars in rework. RO also leverages photogrammetry, to combine the images and develop 3D model and point clouds of the existing buildings for renovation and expansion projects. These 3D models are exported to Autodesk Revit for precise coordination, quantities and project layout. Rogers O'Brien Construction uses drones for progress reports with pre-defined locations,  to keep all the parties up to date and give a different perspective on the progress of construction. Partnering with new software companies, such as Drone Deploy, Propeller, and Smartvid.io, we can consistently set up autonomous flights for orthomosaics, site quantities, inspections and project analysis. Managing a fleet of more than 25 drones, Rogers O'Brien Construction turned into the Premier Builder in Texas.
