UAS aerial thermography is replacing or enhancing many photovoltaic (PV) system inspection methods. In this session, we will present an overview of commercial drone operations for PV systems. Attendees will learn about trends in PV that are driving UAS adoption, and how owners and operators perform cost-benefit analyses. We will cover best practices for capturing high-quality aerial thermography data, and how to perform advanced flight planning, and optimize time on-site. Finally, we will discuss the role of machine learning in defect classification and the importance of data consistency. The session will conclude by presenting a case study from a PV system inspection. A Q&A session will follow.
