The Wounded Warrior Regiment is the Marine Corps' command charged with identifying and assessing wounded, ill or injured Marines to ensure the delivery of an appropriate level of recovery coordination whether the Marine remains with their parent unit or is assigned to a subordinate element of the WWR commander. Recovery care is intended to expeditiously return the Marine to full and medically unrestricted duty or successfully transition to veteran status with an immediate connection to the Department of Veteran Affairs.
